BAT MASSIVE at Abbotsford Convent — a nocturnal assembly of art, ecology and ascension. Co-presented with Wildlife Victoria and Triple R as part of the Convent’s WinterLive program, the event explored human and non-human experiences in exile; a nomadic reverie of the places we always return to. The night moved through a special bat crossing, punctuated by sound and light installations, live music, immersive projections, pop-up bars and food curated by community providores. We worked with the WinterLive team on the event’s identity and artwork, taking a contemporary gothic, after-dark focus. Custom event typography led the direction, alongside a central motif offering a practical nod to bat echolocation, and an aspirational one to seasonality and ascension.
