Displate is a global e-commerce brand specialising in premium metal posters and collectible wall art, featuring designs from independent artists and officially licensed brands. In mid-2025, we worked with Koto Studio on a brand evolution project to help craft the motion identity. The genesis of the motion identity came from the signature magnetic mounting system Displate’s posters. Each one is made of thick metal and is attached to wall magnets with a signature ‘snap’. This lead to magnetism and dimension being key playgrounds. From here came snappy, magnetic behaviours, implied 3D rooms and spaces, and a shape-shifting logo system, able to act as a conductor and dance between states.
